Grown on the fertile slopes of the Cordillera del Bálsamo, in the heart of El Salvador, this coffee is the result of the meticulous work of the Borgonovo-Pohl family. A family business with over fifty years of experience. At more than 1,200 meters above sea level, in a rich and balanced volcanic environment, the coffee trees develop their full aromatic potential under the attentive gaze of a passionate team.

The cherries, hand-picked at full ripeness, are immediately transported to Beneficio San Carlos. There, each lot is carefully processed according to the natural method: the whole fruits are slowly dried in the sun on parihuelas, with a precise alternation of hours of shade and light. This method allows the fruit to convey all its richness to the bean, offering a coffee of remarkable depth and sweetness.

The story of Borgonovo-Pohl begins in the 1950s, when Mauricio Borgonovo leaves Monza, Italy, to settle in El Salvador. There he discovers coffee and falls in love with it. After years of work, he founds Finca San Carlos, which will become the starting point of a family adventure now carried on by the third generation. Always guided by the same demand for quality, the family maintains a close link between terroir, know-how, and human commitment.
