A good espresso is an art! This demanding extraction method reveals the best of each coffee origin. But with a few tricks, you can take the quality of your morning coffee to a whole new level.
1. Dose carefully: Make sure you have an appropriate dose of coffee for your filter holder basket. An overfilled dose will be hard to the touch, while an underfilled dose will be soft and damp. Find the right balance!
2. Extraction time: Try to extract your espresso for more than 25 seconds. This will help bring out more of the flavors in your coffee. Too short an extraction can result in a tart, under-extracted coffee. If the time is too long, you will find a bitter and over-extracted coffee.
3. Volume in the cup: Aim for a volume of 30ml to 45ml in your cup. In branches, we use a 1:2 ratio for our coffees, guaranteeing a perfect balance between intensity and flavors.

Pro tip: freshly ground coffee will offer more intense flavors and for espresso, a tempting crema.
